The Research Group In Vitro Toxicology and Dermato-Cosmetology (IVTD) of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) is looking for a motivated postdoctoral researcher (m/f) to strengthen and coordinate its experimental research aimed at the development of animal-free, human relevant methods for the evaluation of liver toxicity induced by chemicals.
You will conduct your own research project involving in silico methodology, toxicokinetic modelling (PBPK) and/or in vitro to in vivo extrapolation of toxicological data (QIVIVE).
Your research work will result in international, peer-reviewed scientific articles.
You will assist in the supervision of PhD and Master students and take the initiative for new projects and fundraising.
You will help with the coordination and management of IVTDs and IC-3Rs research and prepare (interim) scientific reports.
You will participate in the dissemination activities of IC-3Rs.
o You will be part of the team within IVTD that focuses on the development of non-animal and human relevant alternative methods for the evaluation of liver toxicity induced by chemicals (https://ivtd.research.vub.be/en/research). o You develop your own research expertise in which in vitro and computational toxicology are central. Your scientific work should result in several manuscripts published in international peerreviewed journals.
o Within the Interdisciplinary Research Programme, you function as a liaison between the participating partners (research groups WISE and LSTS) and you are responsible for the organisation and provision of materials for the training activities. o You will assist in the daily supervision of PhD and Master students and help them to reach their goals.
o You will be involved in project management (strategy, follow-up, budgeting, reporting) and take the initiative in writing new research projects for fundraising.
