The Research Group In Vitro Toxicology and Dermato-Cosmetology (IVTD) of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) is looking for a motivated postdoctoral researcher (m/f) to strengthen and coordinate its experimental research aimed at the development of animal-free, human relevant methods for the evaluation of liver toxicity induced by chemicals.

IC-3Rs postdoc position in silico methodology

  • You will conduct your own research project involving in silico methodology, toxicokinetic modelling (PBPK) and/or in vitro to in vivo extrapolation of toxicological data (QIVIVE).

  • Your research work will result in international, peer-reviewed scientific articles.

  • You will assist in the supervision of PhD and Master students and take the initiative for new projects and fundraising.

  • You will help with the coordination and management of IVTDs and IC-3Rs research and prepare (interim) scientific reports.

  • You will participate in the dissemination activities of IC-3Rs.

IC-3Rs Postdoc position in liver toxicity

Interdisciplinary Postdoc position

  • You will perform (stem) cell cultivation experiments, molecular biology analyses and make use of new computational approaches to gather and maintain toxicity data.
  • You will collaborate with computer scientists (WISE team) and researchers from the legal domain (LSTS team).
  • You will be responsible for mentoring PhD and master students working on this program.
  • You will be responsible for setting up a training program related to the proposed interdisciplinary research project.
  • Your scientific work should result in several manuscripts published in international peerreviewed journals.
  • You will be involved in project management and dissemination activities. o You will participate in writing grant proposals.
  • You will assist in the organization of practical courses for students in bachelor and master in pharmaceutical sciences.
